Celebrating The Road Taken

We went to a party on Monday to celebrate, among other things, a dear friend's decision to move to Canada fifty years ago.

And all I can say is, Whew!  I'm so glad she did!  Life would be considerably duller without Judith.

Which makes me think of all the choices, the little, unmarked decisions that have brought all the people I love into my life.  The decisions that allowed my life to be in the first place...

We sigh and moan a lot about The Road Not Taken.  The things we should have done, but didn't, the adventures we could have had, but missed.

This weekend, I feel like celebrating Life As It Is, with all the wonderful family and friends who have dropped into it, some so very accidentally.

How 'bout you?  What do you feel like toasting this week?

one road taken and worth celebrating was that road through sebringville one odd afternoon -- on the small porch of the former bank sat a hobart the size of a hummer -- and the rest is history, or rather, a new story with barb and alan part of the cast of characters on the roads i continue to take.

worth celebrating, indeed!

Another great thought! Your perspective is refreshing - thanks! I think that yesterday turned a toast to the country into a beautiful toast to wonderful family and great food...wouldn't you say?

...and don't forget the Bocce! And a certain player who smoked the field....

Okay, okay...
To clarify for all readers of this blog (not that clarification is necessary), that "certain player" was indeed Barb McMahon, a most talented blogger AND boccista. Who knew?
