Alan and I went to a lecture put on by the University of Western Ontario on Tuesday.
And while the implications of that have not escaped me, we had a good time anyway. Paul Davenport, the university president, took us on a tour of the western suburbs of Paris, "In the Footsteps of the Impressionists".
One of the stops was the restaurant that was the setting for this famous painting, The Luncheon of the Boating Party by Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
La Restaurant Fournaise is still open for business! You can sit where the boating party sat and enjoy a lovely lunch (or dinner)!
The menu looks very good and the prices, for having lunch in a famous painting, are quite reasonable.
Note to self: get back to Paris as quickly as possible!
